Supporting Hill Tribe Children From Chiang Rai
Three Videos — Small Moments, Big Hearts
Sometimes, the most meaningful stories are told not with words, but with images, smiles, laughter — and music. These three videos capture the spirit of a little hill tribe community that welcomed me with open hearts. What you will see here is not about grand donations or big plans. It’s about small steps, shared meals, and simple joys that changed lives — including mine.
These are not just videos. They are windows into real lives — and a glimpse of what happens when we take the time to care.
If you have a few minutes to spare, please watch in Full Screen.
🎥 Video 1 — Our Water Project
The first video (just 3 minutes) shows how one simple idea — bringing clean running water to their small bamboo settlement — turned into a joyful adventure.
With nothing more than long plastic pipes, the strength and enthusiasm of a few boys, and a motorbike ride that I will never forget, we brought fresh water to their homes for the very first time.
In the video, you will see everyone helping — young boys hauling pipes up the hill, a cheerful grandmother tending the outdoor fire, and a community working side by side with quiet dignity and laughter.
And yes — that’s me on the back of the motorbike, holding on tight!
It was not charity — it was a shared effort, full of smiles and pride.
🎥 Video 2 — “Friends Forever”
The second video, titled “My Friends Forever”, is under 5 minutes long and set to the beautiful song Amigos Para Siempre (“Friends Forever”).
It captures Saturday lunches we shared, bamboo houses nestled in the hills, the laughter of children, and the gentle rhythm of their daily life.
There is no drama here, no speeches or ceremonies — only friendship.
Small hands helping in the kitchen, simple meals, playful moments, and the quiet strength of a community that has faced hardship with grace and warmth.
These are not just moving images — they are memories of trust, kindness, and connection.
If you have five minutes to spare, this little film will touch your heart.
🎥 Video 3 - A Daytrip: Our Botanical & River Day
The third video offers a glimpse into a Thailand that very few visitors ever see — far from beaches and tourism, deep in nature and community.
This day trip began quietly at our local church, where Peter, Cop, and Ef and the youngsters from the hill gathered with that shy politeness so typical of the hills. Then we set off together — not for amusement parks or shopping malls, but for something much simpler and more meaningful: a journey through nature.
Along the way, my lens captures scenes of Thailand at its most delicate and beautiful — flowers in every shade and shape, wild blossoms hidden in the forest, small details that most people walk past without noticing.
These colors, these petals, this quiet beauty… they were like Thailand whispering its secrets.
But the true magic arrives at the end of the day.
We reached a river in the hills — crystal water flowing fast over smooth stones, sunlight dancing through leaves, and air so fresh it felt alive.
And then the youngsters ran, though little Peter at first was a bit careful.
Shoes off, clothes soaked, laughter rising above the water — they splashed, shouted, chased each other, and let joy take over.
Their happiness was pure and contagious.
In that river, they weren’t hill-tribe youngsters with difficult lives.
They were simply children being children — fearless, wild, and free.
If time is short, I encourage you to jump ahead to the final minutes of the video.
Watch the moment when they leap into the river and shout with laughter.
That scene alone is worth seeing — not only for the beauty of the river, but for what it represents: innocence, resilience, and the miracle of joy.
This is Thailand as most will never witness it — not the postcard, but the heart.
A day of small wonders, big smiles, and memories I will carry forever.
If the first videos show resilience, this one shows what makes it all worthwhile — their laughter, their energy, and the happiness that comes when life gives them space to breathe and be young.
It is a reminder to all of us that sometimes, the greatest gifts we can offer are time, presence, and joy.
