Photo Gallery & Family Moments

The first photo below shows Cop, Ef, Ann, Koh, and Peter on the lawn in front of our home — the same peaceful place where we have lived since 2010. Surrounded by trees and open fields, it has been the heart of our family life for many years.

2007 – Home in Time for Peter’s Second Birthday

This short video captures a deeply personal moment: my return from Norway after a brief one-week trip, arriving just in time for Peter’s second birthday.

The opening scene — surprising to foreign viewers — shows a typical Thai moment: me sitting in the back of an open pickup truck with Peter, Cop, Ann, and close family friends at Chiang Mai Airport. What mattered most was simply being home for this special day.

One of my favourite Thai songs, Nung Natee (“One Minute”), sets the tone — a reminder of the preciousness of time and the moments we share.
You’ll also see scenes from Loi Krathong, Thailand’s festival of lights, with flowers, lanterns, fireworks, and Peter riding on my shoulders as Cop and Ann join the celebrations. The following day, we released a sky lantern to wish Peter good luck for the year ahead.

This video was filmed in November 2007 — not 2006, despite the camera’s incorrect time stamp. As it turned out, that short trip to Norway became my last time leaving Thailand, except for a brief two-day visit to Laos in 2013.
Since then, Thailand has truly become my only home.

2012 – A Glimpse Into Our Everyday Life

Originally made for friends in Norway, this cheerful 10-minute video offers a light-hearted look into our family’s everyday life in 2012.

It begins at Rajavej Hospital, where Peter was recovering from a sinus infection — and where laughter filled the room as Cop and Koh attempted to say “Merry Christmas” in Norwegian.
You’ll meet Koh’s girlfriend, Cat, see the peaceful hills and lake near our home that often remind me of Norway, and join us in the garden for the simple joys we still treasure: shared meals, playful moments, and even a refreshing cold-water shower in the warm Thai sun.

From smiles and sibling fun to the quiet beauty of our surroundings, this video reflects the warmth and gentle spirit of the people who make up my Thai family.

2017 – A Celebration of Thai Culture and Respect

Filmed at the 2017 graduation ceremony of Cop and Ef at Techno Asia, this video captures something rarely seen by visitors — the deep respect, discipline, and cultural richness that lie at the heart of Thai society.

From the presence of Buddhist monks to the respectful tributes to His Majesty the King, from the elegant movements of the students to their humble bows and soft smiles, this ceremony is a window into the true spirit of Thailand.

For me, it was a deeply emotional day. Seeing Cop and Ef so dignified, joyful, and beautifully dressed touched me then — and even more so now.

There are thousands of videos about Thailand, but this one is different.
It is not about scenery — it is about values.
About gratitude.
About the quiet beauty of respect.

Please enjoy this rare and meaningful glimpse into Thailand — and into the family life that continues to fill my days with love and gratitude.
